West Pier lit up again!

On Wednesday night, R and I headed down to the West Pier on the seafront.  It burned down several years ago (before we moved here) and now looks like this:

I think it's absolutely beautiful, and looks really haunting especially on a stormy day.  There has been talk of clearing away the rubble, but I really hope they keep it standing.

On Wednesday, an event was set up to bathe the pier in green light, to show how looked before.  It was too cold to stay for long (freak 15 minute snow storm didn't help!), but it was really interesting to watch!  Unfortunately, my camera died, so I didn't have a chance to take my own pictures, but here are some lovely ones from eyejewels on Flickr.

Super neat!

And now I'm doing the Friday dance:

cuz I'm stoked it's the weekend!  We're going to an 80's club night tomorrow with a couple work pals, and then going out for dinner on Sunday to Planet India, my favourite restaurant in Brighton. What are your plans for the weekend?

Recently Married?

smooch

At what point do I stop calling myself recently married? I still think of myself as so, but I realized I'm planning my second wedding anniversary, so it's not really a recent thing is it?  Am I just 'married' now?

By the way, any fun anniversary ideas? :)

Leashie Weekend

I finally get to enjoy having my friend live nearby! Leashie moved to London (ish) back in November, and we've seen each other a couple of times (Thanksgiving and Christmas) but this weekend is the first spontaneous weekend we've planned!  Yippee!

Don't actually have much planned (apart from yarn stuff, I'm sure!), but it will be great to see her.  Now I just need to do the same with Zonko...

R and I have also booked a 3-day weekend up to Edinburgh the first weekend in March.  We haven't been since June, so I'm really looking forward to it.  It's tough going to the 'burgh - it makes me miss it so much each time we go, and it's always tough to come back.  Now that we're on course for the 'Plan' to move back to LA, we've realised we probably won't ever live in Edinburgh again.  What a sad thought :(

But, check out me and Leashie in Edinburgh almost 5 years ago! Look how cute we are :)

Radio killed the Videostar...

Late news, but one night I was walking to the gym after work and I thought about picking up a move for the evening.  I went to pop into our local video shop - Videostar - and was shocked and saddened to see this:

bye bye videostar

It was just so sudden and out of the blue...We registered with the other local place, Video Box, but I just don't like them as much.  They're more expensive, and you only get movies for a day, and I'm not a fan of the title arrangements. Humph.  We haven't actually used them yet, but maybe they'll bowl me over with their amazing customer service.  Somehow, I doubt it.

Bye bye Videostar, you will be missed!
